We are looking forward to welcoming our new international students from across the world in September 2025.

We recognise that coming to study in the UK is an exciting time but can also feel a little daunting. There will be plenty of support in place to help you settle into life at Oxford Brookes University.

Visas and immigration

In order to study your course at Oxford Brookes, some international students will need to have a Student visa.

To apply for a Student visa, you will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, known as a CAS. You can find more information about the CAS application process on the starting a new course page. The Applicant Compliance Team will issue your CAS. Once you receive it, you should apply for your visa as soon as possible so you can arrive for the start of semester. To contact the team:

Please note: all students need to complete our online enrolment process. If you are not a UK national, part of online enrolment will include a Right to Study check, whether or not you need a Student visa. Please check back here after Wednesday 13 August 2025 to find out how to complete these checks.

Student Visa Application Workshops

We recommend joining one of ISAT's online Visa application workshops to get useful information/advice regarding the process of receiving your CAS, the documents required for your Student Visa application, and the process of receiving your Visa and travelling to the UK.

International Student Advice Team (ISAT)

We have a dedicated team to support all our international students. ISAT provides lots of resources before you arrive and a wide range of welcome activities for when you get here.

ISAT can help you with:

  • advice on travelling to the UK and getting to Oxford
  • support on finding your way around the University and Oxford once you have arrived
  • social events you can join to help you make friends
  • workshops you can attend to help you settle into the UK
  • advice on opening bank accounts
  • any questions you may have about your Student visa

There will be a number of social events and workshops available during Welcome Weekend and Induction Week, including an important introductory session for all new international students on Sunday 14 September. The full events calendar will be available from Wednesday 13 August onwards.

Meet and Greet service

The International Student Advice Team has organised a Meet and Greet Service to help you to get to your Brookes Accommodation. There will be a meeting point just outside the Headington campus near the Airline bus stop. The team will greet you and help you get the right transport to your accommodation.

Where: Next to the Lloyd Building on the Headington Campus

When: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025

Preparing for Your Arrival Workshops

ISAT also offer online Preparing for Your Arrival workshops which will talk about how to arrive at your accommodation, what to bring, the UK culture, how to make friends and what happens next. You will also get the chance to meet other new students.

Exchange and study abroad students

The Global Engagement Team offers support and advice to exchange and study abroad students at Oxford Brookes. Make sure to attend their Welcome Briefing session on Sunday 14 September where you will:

  • learn more about studying at Oxford Brookes
  • find out how to get help if you need it
  • meet other exchange and study abroad students.

We recommend you attend the introductory session for all new international students followed by this briefing as both sessions will be useful to you. Full details can be found on the events calendar from Wednesday 13 August and on your course induction schedule which will be published on 1 September.
