Cricket

Established in 1992, Oxford Brookes University Cricket Club is one of our top-performing sports clubs.

Whether you're aiming for a professional career or just want to enjoy playing cricket at university, the club welcomes players of all abilities, offering opportunities to develop and succeed at every level.

We currently run three men’s teams, including our elite High-Performance Squad, who were the 2024 BUCS National Champions and we offer competitive opportunities for female cricketers in collaboration with the University of Oxford.

Our two Men’s BUCS teams compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues. Female players can also compete in BUCS via our partnership with Oxford University.

Training, takes place at Brookes Sport, Headington, using our indoor nets.

Men's High-Performance Programme

Our Men’s High-Performance Cricket Programme supports talented cricketers aiming to play professionally. Oxford was one of only five ECB-funded university centres of excellence for 25 years and we continue that legacy with elite coaching, performance support, and top-level competition.

Training takes place at Brookes Sport, Headington and fixtures are held at the historic University Parks. The squad competes in the top BUCS league and faces professional teams. In 2025 they hosted Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan in T20 and three-day matches.

Crowned 2024 National Champions, we’re proud to offer one of the most competitive student cricket environments in the UK.
