Oxford Brookes University Celebrates Success at NMAHPPs Research Conference

The Celebrating NMAHPPs (nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, healthcare scientists, pharmacists and clinical psychologists) in Research Conference on 2 July proved to be an exceptional showcase of academic excellence and innovation.

The conference was hosted and supported by the Oxford Academic Health Partners, bringing together 225 delegates from across the region.

Oxford Brookes University delivered an impressive contribution to this landmark event, with 18 our of staff sharing their groundbreaking research through 10 oral presentations and 8 poster presentations. 

Our research portfolio presented at the conference covered an extensive range of healthcare topics - from paramedic training and professional development, to rehabilitation sciences, nursing practice innovations, and contemporary health challenges - reflecting Oxford Brookes' broad expertise in healthcare education and research.
  • Oral presentations were delivered by: Jenny Dod, Karen Lascelles, Kim Griffin, Lucy McGeagh, Marion Waite, Sally Bassett, Suriya Kirkpatrick, Matthew Catterall, Tanya Rihtman, and Jacqui Dingle.
  • Poster presentations were shared by: Owen Gustafson, Giada Giusmin, Elizabeth King, Carley Moore, Alice Green-Smith, Sanj Nathoo, Sally Bassett, Mark Williams, and Sue Jennings.

We're delighted to celebrate Jenny Dod's recognition for her oral presentation "Exploring student paramedics' experiences of sexual harassment from colleagues whilst on practice placement in UK ambulance services." 

Oxford Brookes University's mission to drive positive change in healthcare through rigorous research and meaningful collaboration is perfectly aligned with what the symposium aimed to achieve. Our researchers and academics demonstrated how university-based inquiry directly impacts clinical practice and patient outcomes.

The networking and engagement that took place at this event will undoubtedly strengthen partnerships across institutions and spark new collaborative research initiatives.
