Learn in spaces designed to support your growth

You’ll learn in cutting edge, purpose-built facilities. From your first day, you’ll be supported to build the practical skills and confidence you need to succeed on placements and in your future career.

Here’s how our facilities support your learning:

  • Modern clinical skills labs – Our simulation suites replicate real hospital and community environments, so you can practise safely before going on placement.
  • Specialist equipment – You’ll use the equipment found in healthcare settings, so you'll feel prepared and confident.
  • Realistic and practice informed scenarios – Simulations with actors and lifelike mannequins allow you to experience different clinical situations, from routine care to emergencies. Many of our simulation scenarios are sector leading and staff are trained in the delivery underpinning this activity.
  • Supportive learning spaces – Our facilities are designed to encourage collaboration, reflective and inclusive hands-on learning.

The quality of our simulation education is rated highly and for nursing can be counted as practice learning hours as validated by our professional body, the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Build your confidence through a variety of placements

We know that high quality placements help shape great nurses and midwives. That’s why, we'll ensure you spend 2,300 hours in a range of real healthcare settings, which includes the use of simulation for nursing students.

We’ll support you as you develop your practical and communication skills, as well as the confidence you need to positively care for people no matter the setting.
